BUFF — Privacy Policy

Introduction

BUFF ("the App", "we", "our") is a mobile application designed to help children with attention and focus difficulties build healthy routines through gamified tasks and rewards. The App is operated by Adi Elgart German ("we", "us"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding that information.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When parents create an account, we collect:

• Email address (for authentication)
• Display name
• Family code (used to link children's accounts to the parent's family)

When children join a family, we collect:

• Child's display name (chosen by parent or child)
• Age group (e.g., 6-8, 9-11, 12-15)
• Gender (optional)
• Birthday (optional)

Usage Data

To provide core functionality, we collect:

• Tasks created, completed, or missed
• Rewards configured and redeemed
• Points ("Buffs") earned
• Streaks and progress metrics

Camera Access

The App requests permission to access your device's camera only for the purpose of photographing a weekly school timetable. The captured image is sent to our secure backend for text recognition (OCR), processed to extract the schedule, and then discarded. We do not store the raw image after processing. The App does not access the camera for any other purpose.

Image/File Uploads

Parents may upload Excel files or images of timetables. These files are processed temporarily and discarded after the timetable is extracted.

Purchase Information

Subscription purchases are processed by Google Play or Apple App Store. We receive a transaction identifier and subscription status through RevenueCat (our subscription management provider) but do not collect or store credit card information.

Analytics

We do not use third-party analytics SDKs that track individual users. We may log anonymous, aggregated usage data to improve the App.

How We Use Information

• To provide, personalize, and maintain the App
• To authenticate users and secure accounts
• To enable communication between parent and child accounts within the same family
• To process timetable images and return structured data
• To manage subscriptions and billing
• To respond to user support requests

Data Sharing

We do not sell personal information. We share data only with:

• Supabase — our backend and database provider (data storage, authentication)
• Anthropic — for timetable image processing via Claude Vision API. Images are sent for processing and not retained by Anthropic beyond the API call duration.
• RevenueCat + Google Play / Apple App Store — for subscription management
• Legal authorities — if required by law

Children's Privacy (COPPA / GDPR-K)

BUFF is designed for use by children ages 6–15 under parental supervision. Child accounts can only be created through a parent-provided family code. We do not collect children's personal information beyond what is needed to operate the App (display name, age group, optional birthday).

Parents can:

• View all information collected about their child
• Request deletion of their child's account at any time
• Disable child-facing features from the parent settings

We comply with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) and GDPR-K principles.

Data Retention

We retain account data as long as the account is active. If you delete your account, we delete all associated personal data within 30 days. Anonymous aggregated data may be retained for service improvement.

Security

We use industry-standard security measures including:

• Encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS)
• Row-level security in our database (children cannot see other families' data)
• Secure authentication via Supabase Auth

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you
• Request correction of inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your data
• Withdraw consent at any time
• Export your data in a portable format

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the App or via email. Continued use of the App after changes means you accept the updated policy.
